  • Manna Class meets in Library at 10:15 and is conducted by Roger Rinn, Ph.D. The Manna Class is currently studying Romans and its relevancy to modern life. Come join in the livey discussions and lessons from a group of "works in progress".
  • Acacia Class meets in Youth Building at 10:15 conducted by Rev. Larry Millard. They are currently studying the Book of Ezra and the highly respected figure in Judaism in Chazalic literature.
  • Agape Class meets in Sanctuary Building at 10:15 and is led by T. Poe.  Members of this group seek Biblical truths and values to apply to their lives in a format that is relaxed, discussion based and Bible centered.  The class welcomes new members and monthly social events are planned.

Weekly Announcements

WEDNESDAY NIGHT DINNER...No dinner or Wednesday activities this week.

The November 30th menu will be:  Mongolian beef, lo mein noodles, mandarin fruit salad.  Please complete a meal reservation card located in the pews, and put it in the offering plate if you can attend.  You may also email the church office at MonteSanoUMC@gmail.com.

SILENT NIGHTS:  TUESDAY EVENINGS IN ADVENT

Join us for a time of quiet contemplation and prayer on Tuesday evenings.  These evenings will include the ancient practice of scripture reading called Lectio Divina and an open ended time of silence for meditation, prayer, and reflection.

SIMPLY CHRISTMAS! On DECEMBER 3rd

  • Sunday is the last day to sign up to bring goodies for the Simply Christmas bake sale.  These items are needed on Friday, December 2nd  between 3 and 6 pm to sale at the Simply Christmas event.
  • Sign up to help at the Simply Christmas event.  If you do not have a spot to help, be sure to contact Linda Hickam, Lterry@hiwaay.net or to help with the bake sale, Cindy Mull in the church office.
  • Plan on coming for Pancakes (provided by our Youth Group) and staying through the Chili Lunch (provided by our Mission Team to help Haiti Disaster Relief.)  EVERYONE IS NEEDED and INVITED!

SANTA FOR SENIORS

Please bring your wrapped gifts by Sunday, 11/27/16 for this service project.  Packages will be delivered to TARCOG on Monday.  Please put the letter and number on all packages, and attach the card.

ADVENT POINSETTIAS

Poinsettias are on sale! Forms are in the Narthex.  Flowers are $9 this year, and you can attach the check or money to the form listing who the flowers are in memory or honor of.  Flowers will fill our Sanctuary on December 11th, and you can pick up on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day following the service.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR will be practicing their Christmas Music to be performed on December 18th at 11 am along with the Chancel Choir’s Christmas Concert

COLD WEATHER GEAR DRIVE

We will be a drop-off point for the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless annual blanket and cold weather gear drive.  Please bring donations to the area outside the fellowship hall near the coat rack.  

COMMUNION IN DECEMBER

There will be no communion on December 4th, but we will have communion at multiple services on Christmas Eve and again on Sunday, January 1, 2017.
